I don't like subscribing to these sort of things. However, you put a lot of work into these newsletters, so I'd be happy to drop you a tenner every now and then, when I'm feeling flush. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be the option to do that. Having been burned once before, I'm also wary of putting my card details into websites. Don't s'pose you could do Paypal, could you? :)

I’ve done so in my other publication and suspect it might be why it has never once been featured by Substack. Cheers Christian, and only to happy to support such an endeavour - and much like your comment about there being ten people listening for every one transmitting, I guess there must be a similar/bigger ratio of those reading and paying. (As Mark says elsewhere, I verrrrry rarely pay to support things like this, but this one feels especially worthy to me!)
But in many ways it's to be expected. We have built a web which has everything seemingly free, but we pay for it through advertisement and being a part of the product as our data is sold onwards by the nefarious algorithms contained within.
Shifting to different models is going to be difficult for some and perhaps only possible when micro payments across platforms becomes easier.
In the meantime there are a few patrons like yourself that make the writers struggle to pay the bills worthwhile. :-)

Yes the ratio is 100 to one :-)
